Monitor's humble beginnings started in 1996 when Simon Alexander bought a single Sony 8" PVM monitor, which was followed by a B&W printer and other gear. Soon after, he met Ari Jampolsky, new to VTR, but experienced in other facets of the production world. VTR technology was changing rapidly, and the services provided in Vancouver were far behind those in New York or Los Angeles. So Ari and Simon joined forces and opened up Monitor, providing the first digital playback in Western Canada. The quality of the equipment and professionalism of the operators helped gain Monitor an unparalleled reputation and soon demand for their services required the addition of other operators and way more equipment.

Today Monitor still embodies the same philosophy as it did when it first began. We understand what our clients' needs are, and we are constantly upgrading our equipment to meet those needs. Ari and Simon are still available to help solve those tricky video problems.
